A small victory?

This link was included in the sale because it was felt that leaving it open compromised the safety of the Building.  Apparently, the fact that its closure would compromise the safety of the anybody walking across the park at night by funnelling them through a narrow gap between the (h)edge of the formal garden  and Baguley Brook was not considered such a problem.

This link path is actually a great deal wider than it appears; were it not for systematic neglect of the trimming of the undergrowth this would be apparent.

The link is now subject to an application to have it confirmed as a public right of way.  The dispute was likely to delay the sale going through and so the purchaser decided that perhaps it wasn’t so important after all.

The cost of this? £150,000 off the offer to the council.

Anyway, back to the story…
