RE: The Proposed Changes in Category to WATLING GATE/FRIESTON ROAD in TIMPERLEY
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my grave concerns over your proposal to change the
useage category of the land at the end of Frieston Road in Timperley (Newton
Park).
As you are well aware there is a primary school attached to this land and
any changes would impinge upon the welfare and safety of the children who
go to this school.
They include my 3 year old girl and will affect my 10 month old child too
when she starts. This is something I feel very strongly about.
1/ Social Welfare
As you are no doubt aware this school is the 2nd best performing school in
Trafford. The children's recreation in the park is part of their development
as healthy social beings.
Do you want to breed a race of hooded ASBOS deprived of recreational areas?
- all in the cause of the pursuit of the mighty dollar.
I object to the proposal to sell off parkland to private developers. If anything
this land should be given to the school to further extend the excellent work
they are doing.
It should be left open for public use.
2/ Safety
Any building work would necessitate heavy machinery passing down a narrow
road where 3-4 years old children are wont to play. Need I spell out the danger
inherent in this.
Once building has finished there will be an increase in traffic to whatever
has been built. There will be a huge increase in the danger of a traffic fatality.
I implore you to reconsider your proposal and leave the land open as an area
for our children.
Yours Sincerely,
