Re Ref L/WP/2405530 (Sale of Watling Gate)

I am writing to strongly oppose the sale of  Watling Gate and surrounding parkland  to a developer.    Lets face it how long do you think YOGA & PILATES will last?  This land was bequeathed to the public and we are very concerned that the prospective purchaser is asking for more park land in the sale of Watling gate.

I believe that the house was originally advertised as  “how much land would you like” rather than “this is what land comes with the house.”  May I suggest the house is re-advertised along the latter lines and is also sold only as a family home.

Since I moved to this address 18 months ago there have been at least 3 more developments of flats on Park Road. (Romana Square being the largest)  Park Road is busy enough without adding more traffic.    Have you ever tried getting out of Park Road?   The traffic most days is past St Hughes School.   It has got to the stage where we have to say enough is enough, and stop any future developments/businesses on or off Park Road.

Children at Park Road School use the park to play before and after school and selling the house as a business puts them at risk (due to the coming and going of traffic). All we seem to do is give the children less and less space for play and then you wonder why we have an obesity problem with youngsters these days.
