Leys Road/Carlisle Drive Neighbourhood Association.
Objections to the intentions of L/WP/2405530.
Dear Sir
As secretary of the Leys Road/Carlisle Drive neighbourhood association these
are the following objections that the residents are strongly objecting to:-
- Covenants placed on Watling Gate when bequeathed by Col. George Edward
Newton specifically restrict the use of both trade and business.
- Leys Road has become a congested area because of the comings and goings
of parents taking their children to school and the use sought will bring
extra traffic and annoyance to local residents.
- The location is opposite the nursery road entrance and potentially could
cause children to be placed at risk from cars having to manoeuvre in a dead
end road.
- Many other sites would be far more appropriate for the proposed use of
Pilates/Yoga or any other business in the area.
- There are many other uses that Watling Gate could be put to:- i.e.
- As a private residence as it was originally.
- As a development of 4 residential flats.
- As an extension of school premises. E.g. a school craft centre.
- Or demolished as it is in such a state of disrepair and returned to
a full green field aimed for public use, the declared aim of the benefactor.
We wish to be kept informed if the council are taking this matter any further
as feelings are running very high regarding the sale of PUBLIC LAND and creating
a business in a solely residential area.
On behalf of the residents
(Secretary)
