NOTES The Persuader class is an excellent fighting ship. She has enormously thick armour and nuclear dampers proof against most atomic weapons. Her drives don't deliver a very high top speed, but her power plant is capable of driving extensive evasive action. This combination makes the Persuader very hard to damage. Her offensive capabilities are also very respectable and can engage most cruiser-size ships with a fair chance of success. In line with traditional military thinking, the Persuader has a company-sized unit of marines as part of its crew. Ten 50-ton Lincoln class troop landers (qv) are carried allowing the entire company to be landed on either a world surface or an opposing starship along with their heavy equipment.
