Player Characters

Dliiavrnt Age: 39 (Aimo)

A renegade Zhodani noble, fully psi trained, brother of Stpierb'. The two brothers were deeply "tainted" with independent thought by a chance encounter early in their careers, and, escaping the Talv' security police, fled to the Imperium where they have operated as freelance bounty hunters ever since, hiding their origins which would have got them shot at worst and deported at least.
Dliiavrnt is a spy and persuader rather than a warrior, and the most skilled psionicist in the group. He has a distinctly random streak of cussed troublemaking in him, which any normal Zho would regard as deeply deviant, and is one of the things which make him deeply unwilling to go back to the Consulate.

Fred Nose Age: 42 (Allan Wiltshire)

A Captain in the Imperial Marines, retired for lack of interest. Nose has been extensively decorated, whether for valour of bloody-mindedness has never been proved. A crack shot with most weapons, he's also an expert tracker/recon man, deadly in hand-to-hand combat, and a competent starship pilot.
His right hand is a prosthocybernetic rebuild, but without enhancements.
One of the few non-psionic player characters, it remains to be seen what his reaction to the origins and abilities of his comrades will be when they become apparent.

Lasnus Age: 43 (Paul Bolderson)

Lasnus is a rarity; a loyal Imperial citizen and a trained psionic. During his career as a military policeman in the System Defence of Glisten, he carefully kept his illegal powers and training hidden, and only a few individuals are aware of them even now.
A security and intrusion specialist, he has found his moderate Telekinesis powers a great help in both breaking and entering, and securing, premises and vessels. He's also an expert in supplying and replicating datawork and paperwork where needed, by legal means or otherwise.
Ironically, he's now part of a team including two highly-trained Zho psionics, and may well be able to pick up a few tips from them, as well as being able to enhance their teamwork through mental force.
Recently, the other players, convinced Lasnus is going to be the first PC to bite the big one, have started calling Lasnus "Kenny"...

Stpierb' Age: 39 (Gordon Brooks)

A renegade Zhodani noble, fully psi trained, brother of Dliiavrnt. The two brothers were deeply "tainted" with independent thought by a chance encounter early in their careers, and, escaping the Talv' security police, fled to the Imperium where they have operated as freelance bounty hunters ever since, hiding their origins which would have got them shot at worst and deported at least.
Stpierb' was trained and assigned as an army tanker, serving as an energy gunner on a grav APC. In the course of his psi training, he developed a "wild" talent. This is rare, and always of interest, as the talent thus learned is almost never the same. Stpierb' discovered he had the ability to erect a small force shield. Lasting only around ten seconds, and covering a flat area only about 5' across, it was nonetheless capable of stopping a bullet if he angled it in the right direction.
With a wide rather than specialized array of skills, he is well fitted to the unpredictable field of starship repo work.

Gvnueghzauerrgh Age: 43 (Jay)

Gunner
A gunnery CPO from the Imperial Navy, he was fired in a series of cutbacks at Mora and ended up on Glisten. Fed up with being called a pirate, he joined CB-LIC and has been on three missions so far, all failures. On the last one, all the rest of his crew were killed.

Non-Player Characters

Oscar Blackwood

Sensor Operator
A Scout from the Exploration branch, Blackwood became bored with counting molluscs and set out to find a more exciting job. This is his first mission with CB-LIC and he is keen to get out and "adventure".

Charlie "Jock" MacKenzie

Engineer
A young engineer from the navy, he was "let go" in the same cutbacks as Gvn, and met up with him in a navy-crew bar. Gvn persuaded him to join CB-LIC and this is his first mission.
He's not enormously confident in his own abilities, though he passed the tests easily enough, and seems nervous if pressed for answers or results.
When he relaxes off-duty, he's something of a party animal, and he and Jock are already forming a "posse".

Douglas Eagle

Navigator
A freighter navigator for all his career with Tukera, he has a love of high-stakes gambling which lost him his previous job. So far with CB-LIC, he's managed to keep his habit under control, but serious temptation would be too much in the long run.
As well as being an astrogator, he's a pretty fair pilot and adequate with commo and drives as well. His merchant service makes him the specialist when it comes to driving bargains and negotiating prices.
