The Last Breaths before the Future Unfolds cy 4822 Mar 14

I know you are busy communing with Willowstar but excuse this brief thought stream. I am now much better informed about the situation. I have deduced, and I suspect correctly, the true nature of the battle with Azael. Futhermore, the Lord Glaennyn has added some important and supporting ideas. It may help your council.

The key to unlocking the secret of the battle with Azael was asking myself how could bound demons be cowards? I realised that this was impossible; they would be forced to defend their master come what may. That is unless the plan was for them disperse all along or if they were bound to someone else. This is where the Lord Glaennyn suggested that we might have the relationship between Azael and Muziel back to front. Then it became clear. Surely the plan was for the demons to disperse all along. We, Malkar, Aliandir and the Glaennyn pinned ourselves down fighting Azael while the real problem hurtled off all-around Grayhawk. So what we may face now is a deliberately positioned ‘army’ ready to strike key locations and individuals anywhere, and most likely simultaneously. Meanwhile, the idea that we had decapitated the enemy now looks very doubtful.

While you with Willowstar please pass on my regards and regrets over her son’s death. I will write him a requiem and perform it to her personally, that is, if she wishes it.

Meanwhile, remember just because I extracted Vaitor I intend you no harm, neither do I intend either Willowstar or the elves any harm. Your actions have saved both the great and the small from unimaginable, horrendous and unnecessary suffering. Relay, my philosophy to her if you if you will.
