Edge of Darkness

A MegaTraveller Adventure

The year is AD 5507, 989 Imperial. The place is the Solomani Rim sector, the border between the all-conquering Third Imperium and the stubbornly independent Solomani (Men of Sol - Earth's Humans).

Nearly fifty years of diplomatic wrangling have failed to resolve the conflict between Imperial expansionism and Solomani resistance. Open war is inevitable; the war that historians will later come to call The Solomani Rim War.

The Solomani have gathered all their naval power into a Grand Fleet - but they need an 'edge' before launching their attack.

An intrepid agent of SolSec (Solomani Security) has secured information which may lead to such an 'edge' - but has died in an accident before he could act on it.

Now, on the eve of a war which will spread to a hundred star systems, a team of four of SolSec's best agents must track down his discovery and act upon it. The freedom of Earth herself may hang on their success!


Edge of Darkness is a short MegaTraveller adventure for up to 4 players. Being at least roughed out in advance, I see it going 5-10 sessions depending on progress, digression, roleplaying and arguments!

Characters will be serving SolSec agents with 7 terms experience, although up to the first 3 of those terms may be served in a different service (Army, Marines, Navy, Free Trader, etc) if desired.

Combat, intrusion, undercover, computer and shipboard skills will all be desirable. The characters will be trained & equipped at Tech Level E (l4).

Players may 'roll their own' or have characters provided by the DM; all characters will be "hand generated" rather than produced with my excellent software!
