Finding the Top 1

1large product photo   18th March 2014

Next, finding the top surface.

The grain on an arrow isn't ever quite straight down the middle, and the layers emerge in Vee shaped patterns. If the unthinkably nasty happens and an arrow explodes on loosing, it will shear forwards along these V's. So you want the Vs on the top of the arrow pointing forwards, that way it'll explode up and away, rather than down and into your left hand. Not to worry you or anything.

So roll it until you find the top and mark it.

This is the bottom! Yeah, yeah, I know we can't see either end to tell the difference. The pile taper is on the left.
