In addition to Artila's strike force, a detachment of Erlyid Imperial Cavalry had been despatched to take charge of the sword Mergil should the PCs actually find it. Unfortunately, the command of this detachment was given to one Colonel Darmagan, an incredibly aggravating and pompous stuffed shirt of a man. Confronting the party, he blustered at and threatened them so much that Kobort eventually Polymorphed him into a 15-stone turnip.Though he will have recovered completely a few hours later, Darmagan will not have forgotten this incident. He will probably react in one of two ways; he will mercilessly hunt down the offenders with all the Imperial power he can bring to bear, or he will do the very best he can to ensure that it is never mentioned again and he never has to go anywhere near the ruins of Lantalaure again.
